When we launched our trip down the Canyon on September 21, it was sunny and the river was clear. Within a couple of miles, the Paria River joined the Colorado. There had been a lot of flash floods in the days before our trip, and the Paria was filled with mud and debris. So for the rest of the trip, the water was muddy! It started off a warm, yellowish brown but then, as the silt settled, it became a reddish brown.
